Gabriele Favero ha dedicato oltre tre decenni allo sviluppo di tecniche analitiche avanzate in diversi ambiti. Le sue ricerche si sono concentrate principalmente sulla caratterizzazione di materiali antichi e artistici, sull’analisi di inquinanti e sullo sviluppo di biosensori. In archeometria, ha messo a punto metodi non invasivi per l’analisi di reperti archeologici e opere d’arte, basati su tecniche spettroscopiche, di risonanza magnetica nucleare e su nuove celle elettrochimiche. Nella conservazione, ha proposto trattamenti innovativi per contrastare il degrado dei materiali causato dall’inquinamento atmosferico, in modo ecocompatibile.
Nell’ambito della bioelettrochimica e della chimica ambientale, ha realizzato biosensori innovativi mediante materiali nanostrutturati e tecniche di immobilizzazione enzimatica per la determinazione di metalli pesanti, cianotossine e altri contaminanti.
Infine, il professor Favero ha contribuito alla didattica della chimica, promuovendo l’applicazione delle conoscenze chimiche in diversi settori.

SCIENTIFIC PROFILE
Gabriele Favero has dedicated over three decades to the development of advanced analytical techniques in various fields. His research has mainly focused on the characterization of ancient and artistic materials, the analysis of pollutants and the development of biosensors. In archaeometry, he has developed non-invasive methods for the analysis of archaeological finds and works of art, based on spectroscopic techniques, nuclear magnetic resonance and new electrochemical cells. In conservation, he proposed innovative eco-sustainable treatments to counteract the degradation of materials caused by air pollution.
In the field of bioelectrochemistry and environmental chemistry, he has created innovative biosensors using nanostructured materials and enzymatic immobilization techniques for the determination of heavy metals, cyanotoxins and other contaminants.
Finally, Professor Favero contributed to chemistry teaching, promoting the application of chemical knowledge in various sectors.
