Alessandro Nucara è Professore Associato in Fisica della Materia esperto di tecniche spettroscopiche. La sua attività di ricerca sperimentale spazia in diversi campi, dalla materia condensata (semiconduttori, sistemi 2D), alla caratterizzazione di matrici biologiche complesse, allo sviluppo di metodologie per applicazioni analitiche ai biosistemi (proteine, peptidi, cellule) e ai beni culturali (campioni archeologici e oggetti d’arte). In questo settore, l’interesse di Alessandro Nucara si focalizza sull’analisi di residui organici in matrici archeologiche e alla identificazione di fibre tessili in campioni di interesse storico, per lo studio delle materie prime e delle tecniche di tintura e manifattura. Alessandro Nucara insegna Fisica al corso di laurea triennale in Scienze dell’Ambiente e Physics Laboratory II al corso di laurea magistrale in Fisica.
E’ stato relatore di numerose tesi magistrali e triennali ed è responsabile del Laboratorio di Didattica dei biosisitemi e del laboratorio IRS1 del dipartimento di Fisica alla Sapienza. Nucara è autore di oltre 140 pubblicazioni, associato all’INFN (Laboratori di Frascati) e al CNR e utente esperto presso facilities di luce di sincrotrone.

SCIENTIFIC PROFILE
Alessandro Nucara is Associate Professor of Physics of Matter and expert in spectroscopic techniques. His experience covers various research fields, ranging from condensed matter (semiconductors, 2D systems) to biological systems and methodologies for biosystems (proteins, peptides, cells) and also cultural heritage (archaeological specimens and objects of art). In this context, his interest focuses on the detection and analysis of organic residues in archaeological matrices and on the identification of textile fibers in samples of historical interest.
Alessandro Nucara teaches General Physics at the bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences and Physics Laboratory II at the master’s degree in Physics. He has been the supervisor of numerous undergraduate and graduate theses, and he is in charge of the Laboratory for Biosystems and the IRS1 Lab at the Department of Physics at Sapienza. Nucara is the author of over 140 publications. He’s associated scientist to INFN (laboratory of Frascati) and CNR, as well as expert user at synchrotron light facilities.
